MySpace Blast From The Past

Image

If I’m not mistaken, this may be the only selfie I have ever posted of myself…in my life…and what’s with the filter?.. and where did I find this picture? In the archives of my MySpace photos…I recently found a lot of interesting things in that alternate world…smh.

But before I introduce you to that former world…..My, almost 16 year old, niece showed me this video a long time ago, and I thought it was hilarious. I wanted to do exactly what Rhett and Link did, but was never really disciplined enough to sit down and write a song food order. I forgot about those guys until about a month ago, and I have been watching their daily morning show since then. They are hilarious, and they rekindle the desire in me to do more video blogs. They have recently been going back to their video vault, and releasing videos they did several years back…this reminded me of something.

Truth is, I used to do video blogs all the time… on MySpace.. remember that world? I decided to revisit my old page this morning, and what I found was pretty embarrassing, and hilarious…The songs on there, are mostly done on my Garage Band, pretty pitchy, and juvenile. And the videos…I don’t even remember half the stuff I talked about on my video blogs.

Bethsaida’s Blog Blitz are probably the cheesiest, and most ridiculous videos ever.. so how can I NOT share them with you all. I promise you, while I was watching this I was thinking “Who is this person??”..haha..my how time changes things, and people…but secretly, I think she’s still inside, just with a very different world view now.

Here’s one for all you lazy folk who won’t click the link above….My Brooklyn accent was so thick then… is it still like that?

Also, I want these archaic videos to be the kick start to a new format I want to introduce on this blog. Over the next few months, I will be traveling quite a bit, and I want you all to be a part of that.

Some of the trips will be for leisure, some will be for answers to questions, some will be humorous, and others will be sobering…but I hope I can share these moments with you in a way that will either encourage you, challenge you, make you laugh, or spark a passion in you.

Thank you for taking the time to be a part of this, and for reading/watching my cheesiness.

I hope to update my blogsite much more often, and share the stories, funny ,encouraging, and challenging, of what God is doing. So check back often…and I really love hearing your comments….so please do leave one =)

<3 Journey: Single? Here Are Some Awesome Video Tips.

The title of this blogsite is Agenda: Love. Love God. Love Others. Part of loving others is being with a person for the rest of your earthly life. I don’t know what that looks like, obviously, but I think it is fitting to write a blog at least once a month regarding this kind of love. I know that I have yet to have a relationship that is healthy, and godly. Would you mind journeying along with me during this learning process? Studying what a godly, healthy relationship looks like? Asking tough questions, getting healing from past junk?

I’ll be calling these relationship blogs: The Love Journey Series (<3 Journey Series)

I’m definitely no expert on relationships… Just a woman trying to figure out what a healthy, godly relationship looks like.Your input, and comments would be greatly appreciated.

“A cheerful heart is good medicine, but a broken spirit saps a person’s strength” Prov. 17:22.

I dunno about you, but I love to laugh ,especially when it comes to things dealing with relationships.

Now I hope that you don’t actually go ahead and take the advice from these next Youtube videos…or maybe y ou should…but I do hope that they put a smile on your face, and a giggle in your heart.

A more inspiring Love Journey blog will appear sometime this month… but for now… Enjoy =)

Aloha Monday. Musical Escape?

(I’ve been excited to post this blog since I first discovered these next musicians..It’s been a long weekend for many of us….hope these videos put a smile on your face…more ❤ Creating Awareness blogs coming later)

This past weekend one of my good friends who served around the world with me, Phillip Henry, flew into JFK. He is now leading a group of 47 World Racers, who JUST landed in Romania.

It was great catching up with him, and hearing his heart, about what God has called him to do for the next few months. He was always one of the racers who LOVED well.

Our conversation led to another one of our passions… MUSIC… He told me about this AMAZING Hawaiian ukelele player, Jake Shimabukuro. I doubted his recommendation at first.. I mean how much can a person do with a little ukelele…right?

WRONG

Enjoy this fascinating cover of the legendary Beatles song, “While My Guitar Gently Weeps“.

Mesmorizing.

And no worries, the next generation, the cutest Japanese boy ever to live, is making sure the art of ukelele playing doesn’t die.

Passion.

And you do NOT want to miss him “singing” and playing “I’m Yours“. (almost 50,000,000 views on Youtube)

Adorableness.

Don’t you feel like going out and buying a uke? Or maybe this makes you want to drop EVERYTHING and get yourself on a flight to Hawaii….I won’t snitch. =)

Out of The Mouth Of Babes…

Come some pretty hilarious things.

Our tongues hold great power. They have the power to bring life to ourselves and others…or to bring death to ourselves and others.

“The tongue can bring death or life;
those who love to talk will reap the consequences.” Proverbs 18:21

Looks like this girl has got the life part down pact.

And talk about motivational speaking! I feel like I can defeat an entire army after this!

Oh how I love love.

Double Rainbow All The Way Across the Sky

Being out of the country for a year, you tend to fall behind on all the American trends… And living in NYC, you can feel overwhelmed with all the new gadgets, gizmos, and clothing fashions surrounding you. I’m slowly becoming integrated into the new fashions little by little like…the stu..I mean the ingenious power balance bracelet:

And of course there are the tons of Youtube viral videos that become similar to cult followings, but there are so many of them, how does a person keep up?

Well, good thing I had my World Race P-Squad alumni friends, Jon and Cinthia, come and visit me from Canada this weekend. We explored as much of Brooklyn, and Manhattan as we could in the two days we had. The bottom of my feet feel bruised! But it was so worth it.

Well, they introduced me to Double Rainbow, and at first I thought they were talking about the ice cream, because I used to scoop Double Rainbow ice cream at my 16 year old ice cream parlor job… but OH NO.. this Double Rainbow far outweighs the satisfaction the delicious cookies and cream would give me and my customers..

So this may be old to you, however it is quite new to me, and has kept me laughing and smiling for the past 20 minutes, and is a great way to end a wonderfully long weekend. So I wanted to share it with you all.

Enjoy =)

Ohh.. and p.s. double rainbow guy, this is what it means.

Fun fact: The rainbow is first mentioned in the book of Genesis Chapter 9, from the Bible. God is talking to Noah after the flood, and says : “This is the sign of the covenant I am making between me and you and everything living around you and everyone living after you. I’m putting my rainbow in the clouds, a sign of the covenant between me and the Earth. From now on, when I form a cloud over the Earth and the rainbow appears in the cloud, I’ll remember my covenant between me and you and everything living, that never again will floodwaters destroy all life. When the rainbow appears in the cloud, I’ll see it and remember the eternal covenant between God and everything living, every last living creature on Earth.” (Gen. 9:12-16 MSG)

Hmm.. I’d say that’s worth being in joyful, crying awe over..good job double rainbow guy. =)

I Dare You Not To Laugh…Challenge Accepted?

I know that I have put up several “heavy” blogs, that make us aware of the evil and injustice going on in our world.

But that’s not all to be found here.

There is Hope, Joy, and Love that is greater, and stronger, than the evil.

There is ultimate Justice that will be served one day.

That truth being said, I wanted to create a category (<3 To Laugh) on this site where you can go to just simply LAUGH.

I don’t know about you, but LAUGHING is my favorite (sort of like Buddy The Elf).

SO here’s the first video in the category… I couldn’t get past the second guy…I’m a weakling. =)

Take the challenge?
